Healthy & Festive Tea Blends For The Holidays - Teatox Australia

Χ-mas holidays are less than two weeks away and (almost) everyone is anticipating to spend the holidays with their loved ones and have a great time. From decorating your home to baking cookies, every little thing counts and places us in a festive mood.

Since now it’s the perfect season to enjoy a warm cup of tea, we have listed some festive combos you can try for yourself or for your guests inspired by famous holiday and winter scents - and the best part is, they have very few to no calories. Enjoy…!

No 1: Apple and cinnamon. If we had to name the most festive tea combo, apple and cinnamon would probably be our first pick. Apple and cinnamon perfectly compliment each other and the scent is very reminiscent of apple and other sweet pies, like our nanas used to make. To make this tea, use 2-3 bags of a mild tasting tea mix as your base like one of our tea mixes and add 1 tsp of cinnamon along with dried apple rinds in a pot of boiling water for a couple of minutes and let it brew. Serve alone or with sugar.

No 2: Pumpkin chai latte. Another favourite festive combo that will surely impress your guests as it’s very popular in big coffee shops and has a rich creamy taste and texture. Of course, nothing beats the flavour and the aroma of making your own. To make your own healthy pumpkin chai latte (3-4 servings) combine in a boiler ½ cup of fresh pumpkin puree, 3 cups of water. ½ cup of coconut or almond milk, 1 tsp of pumpkin spice mix (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc), 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 herbal tea bag, and 1 tsp of mocha or instant coffee. Boil everything and serve into 3 big cups with (optionally) a bit of whipped cream added on top.

No 3: Choco & Cherry. Although chocolate and cherries are not very similar in flavour, they make an interesting contrast and their rich notes are perfect for the winter time. To make this tea (single serving), boil one big cup of water with 1 tsp of raw cocoa, and 1 tsp of dried cherries or cherry blossoms. Sweeten up with stevia or honey if you wish and serve it as it is.

No 4: Ginger and cardamom. If you are a fun of more spicy and uber aromatic flavours and if you want to add a touch of heat, you’ll find this tea combo very interesting. Here is the recipe for 3-4 servings ( boil 3 large cups of water with 1 tsp of fresh ground ginger or 1 ½ tsp of dried ginger bits or powder along with 3 cloves of dried cardamom. Sweeten up optionally with a bit of agave syrup or stevia and serve as it is or add a bit of coconut milk for a creamier taste.

No 5: Blackcurrant and jasmine. Forest fruits are very in season and we love them for their tartness and sharp notes. Pair these up with the ultra sensational and romantic scent of jasmine and you’ll end up with a truly gourmet combo. To make this (3 servings), boil 3 cups of water and add two blackcurrant tea bags and one teabag of jasmine.
